Bruno is officially out of the closet and into the local cinemas. Early reviews indicate that some of penis jokes get played out pretty fast, and goes flaccid after 30 minutes into the movie.
Another concern was how many of the willing participants were already giving head to Bruno before they became part of the prank? Imagine if you were the karate instructor attacked by two flying dildos in the presence of a film crew that includes a video camera operator, and audio sound guy, wouldn’t you already know that this is where you play your part and try to act normal on camera?

We can only imagine that part of the script reads: Bruno is moving in slow motion armed with dildos, so you as the instructor will accommodate and act out the defensive maneuvers in slow motion also.
The Bruno Movie is gay! As one movie critic would have liked to sum it up while giving the movie 1.5 stars (we can only imagine it is out of 5 stars where the unpleasant undertone of the review sucks like an industrial vacuum cleaner).
Honestly though, Bruno is the type of movie where you either love it or hate it. There is no room for audiences to sit on the fence.
During the same scene, a couple headed for the exit. Their haste (however voluntary) was the equivalent of being tossed off the mechanical bull half a second into the ride.

The next critic will never be invited to sword fight with Bruno for brutal movie review rated a 1.5 Oscars statues out of 5. Movie critics are critics for a reason, and some are definitely not treating Bruno like some fruity pebbles by giving him a feature spread and the magazine cover.

The other take away points from Peter Bart’s column in Variety is:
- Please, Sacha, no more Borats.
- In some cases (as with former presidential candidate Ron Paul), the setup is painful, not funny.
- But some also will complain that it’s almost a one-joke comedy.
- Like “Borat,” “Bruno” will resound in a loud ka-ching. (Reference to movie ticket sales.)

Funny man – Sacha Baron Cohen does it again with Bruno the Movie featuring gross, outrageous, and funny comedy with over the top representations of homophobia and gay culture.
Yes, everything is staged to a certain point where Bruno pushes the buttons of unsuspecting participants until their inner hate and ignorance takes over. All of this is captured on film at the expense of participating village idiots.
If you have ever watched a Vivid video, read a Hustler magazine, tuned in to Jerry Springer, paid attention to the local news, or enjoyed Jesus Camp (the 2006 documentary), then Bruno is a movie where nothing is out of the ordinary.

The musical ending, featuring Brüno, Elton John, Bono, Sting, Snoop Dogg and Chris Martin, comes as an abrupt surprise…

Gordon Smart of the UK Sun provides a colorful recap of the Bruno movie and what movie audiences can expect from Sacha Baron Cohen’s soon to be a walk on the brown side blockbuster premiering in July 2009. Teenagers watching the Bruno Movie with their parents will experience more awkwardness than being caught watching porno in their rooms.
Brüno decides to become heterosexual — “like TOM CRUISE, JOHN TRAVOLTA and KEVIN SPACEY”. And an interview with a pastor, who specialises in turning gay men straight, is priceless.
