Bruno: Opening Weekend Total Ticket Sales

Bruno the Movie had a strong showing on Friday, before losing steam as there wasn’t enough die hard fans of Sacha Baron Cohen to help with ticket sales on Saturday and Sunday. By industry standards, Saturday should be the best day for movie ticket sales.

2. Saturday $8.8 million (-38.89%)
3. Sunday $7.2 million (-18.18%)

Hard to say if Bruno is going to be a one trick pony with little box office longevity. In the meantime, it is being compared to movies like Watchmen, Twilight, and Hannah Montana: The Movie which would eventually gross an average of $229 million in worldwide sales.

Bruno did well along the East and West Coast where movie goers are more open minded, while sales were soft in the middle America where people may be easily offended by a fake gay character.
