Palestinian political figure, Ayman Abu Aita, is calling Bruno fraudulent for lying about their meeting while being cast in a villainous terrorist leadership role for the Bruno movie. Truth of the matter is that Ayman had already served prison time, and have worked directly with Jewish state officials after the prison term.
There were no secret locations, and no bodyguards. The interview took place in a “popular restaurant called Everest in the town of Beit Jala, which is in a section in the West Bank under Israeli control,” and the second was “Sammy Awad, the American manager of the Holy Land Trust“.
If this is true, the Sacha Cohen interview on David Letterman leads him to lose credibility. Maybe it was not a good time to come out of the Bruno character because now Sacha Cohen is accused of lying, and not Bruno (fictional character) accused of lying.
This may have more legs for a case than the bingo hall incident.

Bruno the Movie had a strong showing on Friday, before losing steam as there wasn’t enough die hard fans of Sacha Baron Cohen to help with ticket sales on Saturday and Sunday. By industry standards, Saturday should be the best day for movie ticket sales.
- Friday $14.4 million
- Saturday $8.8 million (-38.89%)
- Sunday $7.2 million (-18.18%)

Hard to say if Bruno is going to be a one trick pony with little box office longevity. In the meantime, it is being compared to movies like Watchmen, Twilight, and Hannah Montana: The Movie which would eventually gross an average of $229 million in worldwide sales.
Bruno did well along the East and West Coast where movie goers are more open minded, while sales were soft in the middle America where people may be easily offended by a fake gay character.
Bruno proves that it is not about ratings, or winning movie awards. As long as you come out on top by crushing the movie competition as he did on opening night with a take of $14.2 million, that’s all it matters. The movie has shock value and will probably continue its viral spread once desk jockeys get back to the office on Monday.
Movie goers who may be offended by Bruno and his gay antics will happily pay the price of admission similar to UFC fans who booed Brock Lesner still payed to see him make the obligatory middle finger salute. Let’s be frank, Bruno the Movie is not for pony watchers.

Interesting quote from someone who saw the movie last night: Bruno to gays is like Flavor Flav to the civil rights movement. Brace yourselves and expect a total mockery of homosexuals throughout the movie. Keeping an open mind will probably make the movie more enjoyable.

The greatest fear is that Bruno will set gays back 10 years if the movie is taken out of context. If you live in the middle of nowhere and don’t know any gay friends, you might mistakenly associate Bruno with normal gay behavior.
Bruno aka Sacha Baron Cohen in real life meets with David Letterman to recap the difficulties of locating a terrorist similar to the US government having a hard time locating Osama bin Laden. Then there are weather conditions that make the terrorist interview even more unnerving considering the hired body guard’s resume included stints with protecting musicians from flying undergarments.
